Microsoft makes frequent improvements to Power Platform that are applied automatically. If you adopt a low-code approach to your solutions, you can relax (as you know that the updates won’t break your solution) and be confident that your teams will benefit from the new features immediately.

Complex customisations

However, if you have complex customisations in your solution, these updates can be problematic. They may break things and you may not notice for a day or two, possibly until a user reports that something isn’t working.

Your team needs to be constantly vigilant, watching for upcoming changes, plan for them, and test them before they are applied.

All of this adds to your total cost of ownership; you want to be using the system and getting benefits, not watching the roadmap and fixing bugs.

Once you start using PMO, making small changes (move fields around, change some labels, etc.) is really quick and easy too.
